  • Wildlife Habitats and Soft Adventure travel
    There are perhaps 9 National Parks of major interest. Following is some information on a few that may tempt
    the traveller to spend an extra day or two to discover India at its most natural.
     Corbett National Park Located in Uttar Pradesh in the undulating Siwalik Foothills of the Himalayas, the park covers 515 Sq Km of stunning countryside.Tiger sightings are possible and access to Corbett is by road from Delhi or a short journey through the hills from Nainital.  The park is open from NOV to mid June. Ranthambore National Park It lies on a plateau at the conjunction of the Aravalli and the Vindhya Hills In south-Eastern Rajasthan.  Covering 290 Sq Kms much of the area comprises scrub jungle, together with forested hills and artificial lakes.  Along with an impressive array of bird and wildlife there is a mighty 1000 year old fort which broods over the park.  Access to the park is by road from Jaipur, Agra, Gwalior Kota or by train from Sawai Madhopur. Tiger sightings are quite usual at Ranthambore and the population as of 2008 is now approx. 28 or so plus some new cubs!  Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary This park is known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park situated in Eastern Rajasthan A short drive from Agra or slightly longer from Delhi or Jaipur.  Approx. 30 Sq Kms comprised of both marsh and wetlands and dry areas of deciduous forest.  Although famous for its waterbirds many mammal species can be seen which include sambar, blackbuck, chital, nilgai and many others.

    Gir National Park, Kanha National Park, Kaziranga National Park, Periyar National Park, Nagarhole National Park, and
    Bandhavgarh National Park are the others of note.

    South Indian Retreats

    What is most exciting about playing golf in India is the huge diversity of its courses.     We can arrange to incorporate in your itinerary diverse and original items of interest such as horse riding in the Aravalli Hills, Shekavati or Kumaon and Garhwal.
