Day 1

On arrival at Melbourne Airport you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore this cosmopolitan city.

Day 2

Travel along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay. Drive through the lush tree-fern gullies of the Otway National Park. View the stone monoliths of the Twelve Apostles, the Loch Ard Gorge shipwreck site & the remains of the rock formation known as London Bridge.

Day 3

See the sights of Melbourne including Fitzroy Gardens, Royal Botanic Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance. Later, you will be transferred to Melbourne Airport for your flight to Adelaide.

Day 4

Enjoy a scenic drive through the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis to board the ferry to Kangaroo Island. First stop is Clifford's Honey Farm. Then walk among the nation's most accessible colony of Australian sea lions at the popular Seal Bay Conservation Park with a Local Guide. Witness the Birds of Prey free-flight show and see the pelicans being fed at Kingscote.

Day 5

Visit Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery and later Parndana Wildlife Park, where you can feed kangaroos. At Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary explore the nocturnal world of koalas, echidnas, bats and possums. In Flinders Chase National Park marvel at the Remarkable Rocks and Admiral's Arch and observe a colony of New Zealand fur seals. Return to Adelaide late evening.

Day 6

You will be transferred to Adelaide Airport for your flight to Alice Springs, where on arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Tour the sights of ‘the Alice' including the historic Telegraph Station and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Stop at the Alice Springs Reptile Center where you can see unique central Australian reptiles. Stop for a panoramic view of Alice Springs from Anzac Hill.

Day 7

Travel through outback scenery and experience the grandeur of the West MacDonnell Ranges. First stop is Angkerle (Standley Chasm), where you can take a walk along the stony watercourse and admire the rich plant and birdlife. Witness the amazing geology at Ellery Creek Big Hole. There's time to explore the Ochre Pits and learn about ochre's importance, having been used for thousands of years by Aboriginal people for medicinal and magical purposes. Visit Ormiston Gorge, then sip on a glass of wine and enjoy a Ploughman's lunch at Glen Helen Homestead with time to visit Glen Helen Gorge. Top off the day with a visit to incredible Simpsons Gap. Walk through the Gap to the waterhole, keeping an eye out for the elusive black-footed rock wallaby. Enjoy the late afternoon sun reflecting on the MacDonnell Ranges as you return to Alice Springs.

Day 8

Journey south through the MacDonnell and James Ranges. Visit a camel farm where there is time to ride one of these ‘ships of the desert' (own expense). View Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. Travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area and enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine as the sun sets over the western horizon. Continue to our exclusive venue for an Aussie barbecue dinner. There is time for stargazing (weather permitting).

Day 9

Drive through sandhill country into Watarrka National Park. Make the rocky climb with your guide to the rim of Kings Canyon. Or you may wish to explore the canyon floor, an easier walk.

Day 10

Travel to the sunrise viewing area at Uluru and watch the first rays of sunlight creep across the desert plains. Transfer to Ayers Rock Airport for your flight to Darwin, where on arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 11

Travel via the meandering Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains deep into Kakadu National Park. Make a stop at Nourlangie to view its Aboriginal rock art. Next you'll join a cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong with our local Expert Guide to spot crocodiles. Return to Darwin with free time this evening.

Day 12

Join the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River in search of saltwater crocodiles. Continue to Ubirr for a guided walk to see Aboriginal rock art. Later, visit the Bowali Visitor Center.

Day 13

Transfer to Darwin Airport for your flight to Cairns. On arrival at Cairns Airport you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 14

Board a high speed catamaran and cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef for an unforgettable day. See a myriad of coral and tropical fish from an underwater observatory and semi-submersible craft. There's the opportunity to go snorkeling and view this natural living wonder up close (equipment provided). Enjoy a tropical buffet lunch before returning to Cairns.

Day 15

Visit the award-winning Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Later, glide silently above the canopy of the rainforest on the Skyrail Cableway on your way to Kuranda, where you'll have time to stroll through the market. Board the famous Kuranda train for a breathtaking journey to Freshwater Station, where your journey ends.

Day 16

Transfer to Cairns Airport for your flight to Sydney. On arrival at Sydney Airport you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 17

This morning cross the Sydney Harbor Bridge and stop at Milsons Point to photograph fabulous views of the city skyline. Visit Manly surf beach and return to the city for a Sydney Harbor cruise including lunch. Later, see the Sydney Opera House, Royal Botanic Gardens, Mrs. Macquarie's Chair and Kings Cross. Top off the day with a visit to famous Bondi Beach, where you can wander along the shoreline and dip your toes in the cool ocean before returning to the city.

Day 18

Today is free for you to explore Sydney or perhaps shop for last minute souvenirs in the historic Rocks district.

FAQs

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What if I wish to extend my stay at one of the destinations?
You can extend your stay provided you intimate us of such extension at the time of your booking. Additional charges will be applicable and the reservation would be basis the availability. It is recommended not to make any extensions/alterations can be done when the tour is in progress. 

Will there be any change in itinerary or date of tour as we need to plan our leaves and make necessary arrangements accordingly?
We do not change the itinerary or date of the tour, however in case of force majeure events; circumstances force us to change the routing or date of the tour, as the case may be, just for your safety. 

Can I make changes in my travel plan once the booking is done?
Yes, you can modify your booking or travel plan. There may be certain charges for modifications or for canceling the old booking and making new arrangements. The travel consultants at our offices will assist you for the same. 

Due to some reasons if I cancel the tour then will I get my money back?
Cancellation of tour will attract certain cancellation charges. The travel consultant will give you the details about such cancellation at the time of booking 


INTERNATIONAL TOURS

Can I upgrade my class of travel or airline?
Yes, you can upgrade your class of travel or airline as per the availability and on an additional cost. Please inform the same at the time of booking.

Can I request for a window seat or seat with more leg space?
Yes, you can request for a window seat or seat with more leg space or an aisle seat at the airport check in counter. It will be provided by airline as per the availability.

Does airline have provision of wheelchair?
Yes, airlines have provision but it is limited hence you need to inform us at the time of booking. Few airlines also have certain charges for wheel chair. Wheelchair is subject to availability and at the discretion of the airline.

How much baggage is allowed per ticket?
At present for most of the destinations, it is 20 to 25 kg for cargo and 6 to 7 kg for handbag per ticket but it does vary with the airline. For guest traveling to US at present baggage is controlled by Piece Concept. Under the Piece Concept, passengers are permitted per ticket to check two bags with a per-bag weight of up to 23 kg for Economy Class. However for internal flights there is no free baggage allowed, your 1 check in baggage cost is paid by Gilpin but the second checkin baggage if any has to be paid by guest. Also due to security reasons during internal flight the bags cannot be locked, same will be timely instructed by the Tour Leader on tour. Hand baggage of 7 kg is allowed for both international and internal flights.

Can I do telephonic or internet checks in on the day of departure?
Most of the airlines in case of groups prefer checkin at the airport check in counter only.


HOTELS & ROOM TYPES

What categories of hotels are offered? 
The hotels are usually 3* / 4* category with basic amenities.

Are the hotels located in the city? 
The hotels are booked as per the availability and are located at convenient locations.

What is the basic accommodation type? 
For all packages, accommodation is generally provided on Twin sharing basis. Other room types like Single room, Double Room or Triple Room can be provided as informed at the time of booking.

What does Twin Sharing mean? 
Twin sharing means two adult share 1 room with two separate beds.

What does Double Sharing mean? 
Double sharing means two adult share 1 room with one queen / king size bed .

What is a Triple room?
Triple room is when 3 adults share 1 room. Usually, a family with 1 child or friends prefers this type of room. The room size is same as that of a twin room and the third bed is often a roll - away mattress.

What if I and my child want to share a room? 
Within India, if child is below 12 yrs of age and sharing a room with an adult then child has to pay adult tour price. International tours, child below 12 years of age sharing room with an adult needs to pay 75% of tour price and 12 years and above adult tour price.

Can 3 adults and 1 child share a hotel room?
At most of the destinations around the world, if you are a family of four then you are given 2 rooms. As per the safety norms, 4 people are not allowed in one room. In this case, if you have a child then s/he has to pay adult 75% or adult tour price depending on age as mentioned.

Is it safe to keep our belongings in the hotel room when we go for sightseeing? 
We recommend that you should not carry many valuables on tour. However, many hotels do have safe deposit lockers which you can make use of. Handle the locker keys and password with caution as a fine can be levied if the password / keys are forgotten / lost. Kindly do not keep any valuable unattended in the hotel.

Is porterage service available in all hotels on tour?
Porterage service is subject to availability on prior request with certain charges. In most of the countries, porters are not available as in India so we recommend that you carry stroller bags or four wheeler bag which you can handle yourself instead of porterage service and is faster and convenient.


DOCUMENTATION

Do I need a passport for travel? 
Yes, Passport is mandatory for any international travel.

If I do not have a passport, will Gilpin assist for the same? 
If you do not have a passport you can apply for the same online on www.passportindia.gov.in if you are an Indian National, however Gilpin will only guide but does not assist in the processing as recommended to apply by self

With my maiden name reflecting on the passport, can I book the tour with my married name?
It is important that the tour booking should be done as per your name on the passport as all further travel arrangements are booked accordingly and passport is the only valid document abroad for verification.

What is Visa and how should I obtain the Visa?
VISA is the short form for Visitors Intending to Stay Abroad. It is a permission granted by the high commission or consulate of the country you wish to visit. For certain countries, you have to go for personal interview. Gilpin will assist you in filing the visa application. 

What is the possibility of getting a VISA? 
Granting or Non-Granting of a Visa solely depends on the respective Consulate/ Embassy. We just assist you in filing the application for the Visa. We neither assure nor guarantee the Visa to anyone since the same is beyond our control.

If due to Visa rejection I need to cancel my travel plan then do I get a refund?
Yes, you can get a refund after deducting the Visa application fees and cancellation charges, if any.

Do I need Overseas Travel insurance? 
It is advisable to acquire adequate Overseas Travel Insurance cover for protection from any possible risks such as damage, loss, accident or injury to life etc on tour. For Europe and Dubai tours, the insurance is included in the tour price for those aged up to 59 years for the duration of the tour. Guest above 59 years of age will have to pay the difference on the insurance premium as applicable.


BOOKING & PAYMENT

How much in advance should I book the tour?
For Indian tours, recommended 120 days prior to the departure date. However, if you book early you can avail of the advance booking discounts, priority in the coach etc. International tours recommended atleast 90 days in advance to avail of the advance booking discounts, priority in the coach etc.

What are the requirements to book a package tour?
To book a tour, you need passport with 6 months validity subsequent to the scheduled departure date of the tour and with sufficient number of blank pages for visa purposes. Whereas for Indian Tours identification proof is mandate. You also need to pay a booking amount depending on the tour price to do the further processing 

Do I need to pay the entire tour price at one go while booking?
It is not mandatory though; you can pay the initial booking amount to book and pay the balance payment later before departure of the tour.

Post Booking

How can I check my payment and billing details?
You will receive an invoice and receipt of the payments. if you do not receive the same you can contact the accounts team at billing@gilintravelindia.com

Prior to tour departure is there any information provided?
We do give pre departure information sheet once you book a tour which consists information about the destination, things to carry, weather, shopping etc.

Do we get any confirmation call of our scheduled departure?
Yes, 2 to 3 days prior to your scheduled departure we give a call to inform the reporting time and place.

In case of emergency whom can I contact?

FOREIGN EXCHANGE

Do I need to carry multiple currencies depending upon different countries visited on the tour? 
USD / EURO are universally accepted currencies and easily exchangeable in any part of the world. No need to carry multiple currencies. You can carry the local currency of the visiting country worth $ 50 for miscellaneous expenses and if in emergency.

How much foreign exchange can I carry on tour?
As per RBI circular, the Basic Travel Quota (BTQ) per financial year is US$ 10000 per person for private visit and US$ 25000 for business visit.

Is it advisable to carry foreign exchange in Cash on tour?
You can carry cash but we advise you to carry American Express Travelers Cheques as it is accepted around the world. It is safer than cash and if lost or stolen can be replaced worldwide, usually within 24 hours. Travelers Cheques also enable you to budget track and control your travel expenses easily. Also, we have Forex Card which is a magnetic strip based Prepaid Card usually introduced in partnership with Visa International or Master Card International, which offers you a convenient and secure way to carry your foreign exchange.

Before Travel

  1. As per RBI circular, the Basic Travel Quota (BTQ) per financial year is US$ 10000 per person for private visit & US$ 25000 for business visit.
  2. Maximum limit for carrying INR while travelling abroad is Rs 7500/- .
  3. Maximum limit for bringing INR while returning India is Rs 7500/-.
  4. USD / EURO are universal currencies & easily exchangeable in any part of the world.
  5. Airport tax is added to Forex cost at airport.
  6. Carry local currency of the each visiting country worth $ 50 for miscellaneous expenses and emergency use.
  7. Travelers’ Cheque are safer than cash, and if lost or stolen can be replaced worldwide, usually within 24 hours.

During Travel

  3. Keep currency of different countries in separate pockets of a pouch to avoid confusion & loss.
  4. Do not keep entire Forex with one person, divide it among family members. 
  5. Usually ,you get better rate for USD / EURO of higher denomination 
  6. Spend all coins before returning from tour or keep with you as a souvenir.
  7. Guests require to show Passport for Travellers\' cheque encashment.
  8. Please keep Travellers\' cheque and slip separately in different bags.

  10. However, you are free to retain USD 2,000, in the form of currency notes or TC\'s for future travel
